BEHEMOTH's 'Evangelion' Certified Gold In Poland

"Evangelion", the new album from Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH, has been certified gold in the band's home country for sales in excess of 15,000 copies.

Commented guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski: "Wow… big fuckin' WOW! What else can I say? This is HUGE day for BEHEMOTH. From the bottom of our hearts, we'd like thank all the people who bought the record and made it happen! Also massive thanks go to Mystic Productions in Poland for giving us so much support and strength! You are more than awesome!

"Now we are stuck somewhere in Austrian mountains, the tour is doing great even though most of us are battling with the flu. I'm on antibiotics and steroids so I can't even celebrate tonight with the bottle of Jack D. in my hands… I just hope some of you can do it for me? Haha…

"Once again, thank you for all the support!"

"Evangelion" spent four weeks on the official chart in Poland, coming in at the #1 spot three weeks in a row after debuting at #2, just behind MICHAEL JACKSON.

In a recent interview with Decibel magazine, Darski and bassist Orion (real name: Tomasz Wróblewski) both admitted that they have given serious consideration to moving away from Poland. "The more places we see, the less connected we feel with the place we live in," Wróblewski said. "All of them seem more attractive than Poland. But you get used to a place where you live, and it's kind of hard to move. But it's possible, yes."

"I'm always thinking about it," Darski admitted. "I was just in New York for a few days, and I was thinking about it then. I mean, I'm rooted here, right? I've got my family here; I've got a nice apartment; I've got a few friends. And I was born here. But I would have no problems to live my life a few months in Poland and maybe a few months somewhere else. If one day I fall in love in Portugal or Brazil, I'm not gonna think twice. I'll buy an apartment in one of those countries and just move there and try to live a normal life."

Darski continued, "I can't understand why people come to Poland and say, 'Oh, this country is so nice and the people are so cool.' I tell them, 'No — these people are not cool. It's just a façade. They just pretend. Deep in their hearts, they are evil human beings.' You see, people in this country are very backward-thinking and very conservative. People who don't grow up here don't know the reality, and they will never find out."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Working On Its 'Most Personal And Epic' Album

9:17 AM / Posted by metallic sucker and moslem militan / comments (0)

Guitarist Zacky Vengeance of AVENGED SEVENFOLD has issued the following update:

"It has been awhile since we have shed light on our current doings. Well, here is a long-awaited update into the world of A7X.

"We came off of the road amidst one of the most turbulent times in history. Everything going on around us was overwhelming, frightening, frustrating and confusing. I must confess that it was also very exciting to me. I'm sure you can share my sentiment.

"We have been focused on only one thing: writing and preparing to record what to me is our most personal and epic AVENGED SEVENFOLD album. The reason is the fact that everything happening around us in the entire world might be a once-in-a-lifetime source of inspiration and direction. We have been harnessing every aspect of what makes A7X truly unrelenting and building off of that. I don't think we sleep too much anymore because of the excitement we feel while writing this album. Only a world spinning out of control could inspire the music and vision we have now. Once again, it is fucking exciting.

"We will continue finalizing our songs until we feel every note does both you [the fans] as well as us justice. We are also in the final stages of solidifying our production team, studios and engineers so that the second the axe falls and the album is written we will spend day and night in the studio until it is complete. This album will definitely take you on a very dark journey..."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD's DVD/CD package, "Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough", was released last September. The live DVD features the band's April 2008 hometown show at the Long Beach Arena headlining the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour, while the CD contains previously unreleased b-sides that were recorded during the making of "Avenged Sevenfold", plus various covers, and other never-before-heard material. The DVD was directed by Core Entertainment's Rafa Alcantara, who also worked on the band's critically acclaimed 2007 road documentary "All Excess".

SICK OF IT ALL Working With Producer TUE MADSEN

9:14 AM / Posted by metallic sucker and moslem militan / comments (0)

Legendary New York hardcore band SICK OF IT ALL is currently at Antfarm Studios in Århus, Denmark with Danish producer Tue Madsen (HALFORD, BEHEMOTH, KATAKLYSM, THE HAUNTED) working on the follow-up to 2006's "Death To Tyrants" for an early 2010 release via Century Media Records.

Regarding the direction of the new material, SICK OF IT ALL singer Lou Koller recently told the LimeWire Music Blog, "It's typical us. It's a mixture of what we love — old-school sing-along Oi! music mixed with modern hardcore. That's what we do."

Century Media Records in November 2006 released a limited, specially priced version of SICK OF IT ALL's latest album "Death to Tyrants", celebrating the band's 20th anniversary as still one of the leading old-school hardcore acts. Apart from very special packaging, the "Death to Tyrants – Persistence Tour Edition" contained a whole bunch of extras, like live footage (recorded in 2006 in Germany), the video clip for "Take The Night Off" and two exclusive bonus cover versions of classic SICK OF IT ALL songs by MADBALL ("Give Respect") and WALLS OF JERICHO ("Us Vs. Them").

ELUVEITIE: 'Everything Remains' Track Listing Revealed

9:13 AM / Posted by metallic sucker and moslem militan / comments (0)

Swiss pagan horde ELUVEITIE will release its third album, "Everything Remains", in early 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. The band's mainman, Chrigel Glanzmann, recently attending the mixing sessions at Nott-In Pill studios in Wales with Colin Richardson (SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, KREATOR, BEHEMOTH, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) and Martyn "Ginge" Ford.

"Everything Remains" track listing:

01. Otherworld
02. Everything Remains As It Never Was
03. Thousandfold
04. Nil
05. The Essence Of Ashes
06. Isara
07. Kingdom Come Undone
08. Quoth The Raven
09. (Do)minion
10. Setlon
11. Sempiternal Embers
12. Lugdunon
13. The Liminal Passage

Commented Glanzmann: "We can look back at two extremely intense months of working our asses off recording the album. It has been an intense, exhausting, but also satisfying time with all of us giving 150% in. Many things developed very spontaneously and songs became very authentic, pure and genuine.

"Speaking of the recording, I have to mention the amazing job of Tommy Vetterli [CORONER, KREATOR], for sure, who really worked his balls off for the album! Once again he assured his position among the world’s best engineers. That's what Colin Richardson stated about his work: 'One of the best drum and guitar trackings I've ever heard!' Furthermore, we can already give you a first glimpse of the artwork, which has again been done by famous artist Travis Smith, who already did the cover for 'Spirit'.

"Lyrically, the album consists of diverse stories and narrations from ancient Gallia: Historical occurrences and fates of individuals as well as myths and legends bequeathed throughout the centuries. Yet the lyrics pretty much focus on the 'human' aspects of those historical happenings and also behold them with some questioning and probably also with a slightly bittersweet smile, being well aware of the fact that today we simply cannot tell how things exactly have been back then."

"Everything Remains" will be the follow-up to the acoustic/folk masterpiece "Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion", which was released in April via Nuclear Blast Records. It contained 15 folk songs, most of them written in ancient gaulish language.

The CD registered the following first-week chart positions:

Switzerland: #20
Germany: #60

ELUVEITIE last year announced the addition of Paede Kistler (bagpipes, whistles, acoustic guitars) and Kay Brem (bass) to the group's ranks.

NIKKI SIXX Checks In

9:05 AM / Posted by metallic sucker and moslem militan / comments (0)

MÖTLEY CRÜE/SIXX A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx has issued the following update:

"Home has recharged the batteries and seamless creativity is flowing again.....

"I always love it when a friend turns me onto a book, music or something I haven’t heard about or seen before. There's some cool stuff out and about and I thought you might like it too.

"I took Katherine [Nikki's girlfriend, tattoo artist and 'L.A. Ink' star Kat Von D] to see 'Nevermore - An Evening With Edgar Allen Poe' at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood. Jeffrey Combs delivers the arrow to the heart in this one-man play. This is a must-see. We loveeeeed it.

"As a teenager,I feel in love with Hieronymus Bosch. Recently his work has re-struck a chord in me and I am admittedly on the verge of being obsessed.

"If you're a fan of 1400s -1500s European painters, you owe it to yourself to Google his work.

"Audio books have taken over my life recently. In this fast-paced world we live in, multi tasking is taking over our lives. I do it sometimes, and hate that I get caught up in it. Trying to boil down to simple things like just writing a song, not answering emails while having lunch with a friend or talking on the phone during a long ride somewhere with your girlfriend seems like more work than it should. One way to block out the noise in your life is to listen to audio books on the ride (plains, trains and automobiles). Unless your with someone, of course...hahahah....

"Three audio books I would like to recommend are:

* 'Tuesday With Morrie' by Mitch Albom (an oldie but goodie)
* 'A New Earth' by Eckhart Tolle
* 'The Mirror Effect' by Dr Drew

"On a personal, front my photography is challenging me to go to new heights. I sometimes wonder if I'll ever get to the level I am striving for. It can be so frustrating and challenging, as I said before, maybe I should just give in a shoot 8 by 10.

"New SIXX: A.M. music is coming along nicely but no deadline or release dates to even consider. I will say it feels like the next logical step musically for the band. James [Michael, vocals] used the word 'important' in describing the new lyrics.

Everything is in full-on creative mode right now and that's when the magic really happens.

"That's really all for now.

"I hope you're all enjoying the change of season and look forward to some exciting news to share with you in the near future."
