On Sunday, May 17, Chicago heavy rockers SOIL stopped by the MSC Radio Network studios take part in an interview and perform a song for the small crowd on hand. The event was dubbed "The Metal Daycare" by frontman A.J. Cavalier.
Cavalier, before the song started, placed his guitar case in front of the audience, which mainly consisted of the members of the MSC Radio Network as well as their children and special guest JCB (vocalist from DEMONS WITHIN), and asked for donations. After the band was done it was confirmed that they raised 25 cents.
SOIL talked about the last leg of their tour with DOPE, the work on the new album, influences and a few other items.

SOIL recently inked a European deal with Germany's AFM Records. The group's new album is being recorded at Groovemaster Recording Studios in Chicago with Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K (DISTURBED, 3 DOORS DOWN, STAIND, FINGER ELEVEN) and is scheduled for release later in the year. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Like It Is", "Temptation", "Surrounded", and "Picture Perfect".
SOIL last year signed with Driven Music Group — the Phoenix, Arizona-based music label and entertainment company created by Brian "Head" Welch, a founding member, songwriter and guitarist from the multi-platinum rock band KORN — for the North American release of the group's next studio album.
SOIL's latest CD, "True Self", was released in May 2006 via DRT Entertainment. The follow-up to 2004's "Redefine" was recorded and mixed at Bomb Shelter studios in Los Angeles, California with producer Ulrich Wild (STATIC-X, TAPROOT).
