San Francisco Bay Area metallers DEATH ANGEL will team up with SKINLAB for two shows in August:
Aug. 28 - New Oasis - Sparks, NV
Aug. 29 - The Uptown Nightclub - Oakland, CA
DEATH ANGEL's longtime drummer and original member Andrew Galeon left the band in April. Will Carroll, formerly of SCARECROW, OLD GRANDAD and VICIOUS RUMORS is handling the drum duties for the Summer Madness Tour in Europe with KATAKLYSM and KEEP OF KALESSIN.
Five years after the release of the band's acclaimed comeback album, "The Art Of Dying", and the follow-up effort, "Killing Season", DEATH ANGEL recently issued a DVD with two full-length concerts filmed in Germany. Entitled "Sonic German Beatdown", the package — which came out in Europe on April 17 and will be issued in the U.S. at the end of this month — includes footage from the 2007 edition of the Rock Hard Festival and a 2008 performance in Adelsheim. As an added bonus, the set includes a live CD.
"In for the Kill", the new video from SKINLAB, made its "Headbangers Ball" debut this past Saturday (July 11) on MTV2. The clip was filmed in May 2008 at the group's warehouse in Oakland, California with new, up-and-coming director Jourdan McClure and it features appearances by UFC fighter Nate Quarry and Greg Thompson.
SKINLAB recently posted a brand new track, "Amphetamine Gods", on the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the band's forthcoming album, "The Scars Between Us", which is tentatively due before the end of the year via Stand And Deliver Records. The group says, "[The track] is still in the rough-mix stages, but fuckin' good enough to let hit the streets to let everyone know that SKINLAB is back and more brutal than ever!"
SKINLAB released a live album, "SkinnedAlive!", in April 2008 via BCD Music Group. The CD was recorded on June 3, 2007 at The Metro in Oakland, California.
SKINLAB's current lineup:
Paul Hopkins - Drums
Glen Telford - Guitars
Steev Esquivel - Bass/Vocals
